FAQs

ORDERING

Can I customise my order?

Many items can be customised.  If you have any requests, please get in touch before you order.

What is your turnaround time for orders?

Current turnaround time is approximately 2 weeks from the time you order to the time your parcel goes into the post.  This may change, but will always be updated on the website.

Why can’t I find the size I’m looking for?  Will you get more in stock?

Because all fabrics are up-cycled they come in limited quantities.   If you can’t find what you’re looking for then please get in touch because I may be able to find more fabric or squeeze out an extra size for you from what I have.

My order is a gift and I’m sending it directly to the recipient.  Do I need to let you know?

If you’re sending a gift then please let me know so that I can make sure your order receipt is not included in the parcel.  I can also include a little gift card with a message in it.  There’s a comments box at checkout that you can put all relevant information.

I just ordered and now I want to make a change or add something, can I do that?

In some cases you can.  Just send me a message ASAP with your order number and I can see what I can do to sort things out for you.

DELIVERY AND RETURNS

How much is delivery?

Please visit our shipping page here.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, as an international customer, you can order from Canada or the United States.  Currently there is no shipping to the EU.  Northern Ireland is included within UK shipping, but the Channel Islands are not.  International customers are responsible for any customs or duty fees that their order may incur.  I recommend you look at the relevant fees for your country before ordering.

What is your returns policy?

Please see the refunds policy for all details on returns and refunds.

Are your shipping materials eco-friendly?

Yes!  I use biodegradable, compostable shipping bags.  Everything is wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, which can be reused or recycled.  Just make sure you remove the sticker first.

MATERIALS

I have allergies.  How are your fabrics treated?

Everything is pre-washed in non-bio laundry soap.  I don’t use any tumble dryer sheets or fabric softeners.  Everything is made in my smoke-free home studio.  I have cats, but they aren’t allowed in!  If you or your child have sensitivities then please get in touch.

What are the up-cycled fabrics made from?

In general, the curtains and duvet covers that I use are a poly-cotton blend, or sometimes 100% cotton.  More modern fabrics usually have a higher cotton content, while vintage ones have less.  It’s sometimes not possible for me to know the exact makeup of the fabrics if they are missing their labels or if they are too faded to read.  As a result all fibre content is listed as “mixed fibres”.  I make sure that curtain fabrics have not been chemically treated or coated, for example with a thermal acrylic.

I like using buttons instead of poppers or snaps on my child’s clothes.  Can I get those instead?

Unfortunately no.  Without industrial button sewing equipment in my studio, I’ve decided to abstain from any buttons on my products because they pose too much of a choking hazard if pulled loose.  I use metal press poppers or snaps, which are durable, easy to fasten and stay done up.

SIZING

My child wears cloth nappies.  Should I size up?

All sizing is cloth nappy compatible, based on an average birth-to-potty pocket nappy with one insert.  However, if you use extra boosters or terry squares then you probably will need to go up a size.  Check out the size guide for more details.

How do I choose what size to order?

All sizing is based on an average child around the 50th centile, wearing a cloth pocket nappy.  Every listing includes a size chart with some basic measurements, so you can go by your child’s approximate height as well as their age.  Check out the size guide for more info.  You can also get in touch if you have any questions or need some extra help
